BDA Equestrian is owned and run by Kyle Hassell and Kelly Aldous. They have demonstrated exceptional ability in getting the best out of any competition horse. Quick to recognise the strengths and weaknesses of a horse, they can plan, organise and complete a period of schooling while the horse is on livery with them. Always sympathetic to the nature and ability of each individual horse, they will develop it to its full potential in a knowledgeable, structured and understanding way. We have several young horses with them now and are hugely impressed by the progress being made. They also breed horses of their own and are producing horses which are already showing promising competition results. They have several to watch for the future. We have had Bates BDA (AKA Squirt) Kyle and Kelly's first homebred horse (extra special) for just over a year, he is a lovely boy fantastic to handle and has slotted in to his life with us beautifully. Early in the year we did have a few "greenness" issues and Kelly and Kyle were instantly available to support us and solve them, following that we had a super first eventing season. Squirt completed the 2018 season with 7 fab BE100 Clear XC runs. Alongside this he has been a star at Pony Club Finishing 3rd Individual in the Pony Club National Championships Intermediate SJ and leading the 3rd place Pony Club Team at the prestigious show jumping competition at Burghley International Horse Trials 2018. I've sent a couple of horses to bda... They have both been looked after like their own horses.. Immaculately turned out whenever I have visited! I had regular contact about their progress and was able to visit on a regular basis... Over the moon with my girl that was backed and then ridden away by BDA. Highly recommend them to anyone thinking of having their ponies backed. Not only did they do a great job but their on going support, advice and reassurance has been invaluable. Without them I know I’d have never of had the self belief that I could jump my horse in the 1m 20 classes that I am jumping at the moment, I really lacked confidence. Their training together with building my confidence along the way has been incredible and we will be in the 1m 30 classes soon. Kelly and Kyle are both fantastic to work with. They have looked after my little colt for me as well as breaking in a 4yr old for me. Which was done beautifully.
